Do I need to install anything?
No. There are no downloads or installs: the emulator runs in the browser itself via WebAssembly. You don't need an account to play either. It works the same on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iOS.
Controls, save states and fullscreen
Play with the keyboard or connect a gamepad (Gamepad API compatible). On mobile, on-screen touch controls appear. You also get quick save states and a fullscreen mode from the game bar.
